It Really Is (Going to Be) A Very Windsor Holiday!

Saturday, December 7 will mark a festive and fun-filled day of holiday celebrations throughout Downtown Windsor during the annual “A Very Windsor Holiday.” This annual event promises something for everyone, with local businesses, restaurants, and pop-up venues offering a variety of holiday shopping, dining, and entertainment options from 9am to 11pm.

The day kicks off with family-friendly events, including opportunities to meet Santa and enjoy delicious food and drinks at The Bean @226. From 4 to 6 pm, The Bean will host its Winter Bazaar, featuring local craft vendors selling everything from home décor and ceramics to jewelry, smudges, candles, and unique gift items. Silent auction tickets will also be available, with all proceeds benefiting Project Santa.

Just a short walk away at The Birdcage at 25 Central Street, the Holiday Pop-Up Market will be open from 10 am to 4 pm, showcasing a curated selection of handcrafted goods, including jewelry, pottery, textiles, wooden crafts, and more. Visitors can also enjoy hot coffee, and take a holiday-themed photo in this cozy marketplace while enjoying singer, “Tomaca” who’ll be singing Christmas tunes and including some sing-alongs.

Next door, the Windsor Art Center Studios will host an Open Studio and Art Sale, giving guests a chance to see local artists at work and purchase paintings, sculptures, books, and other unique items. A quick stroll across the railroad tracks will bring visitors to the Windsor Art Center, where they can explore the gift shop and view "Renewal: Healing Through Art" a transformative exhibition exploring the power of creativity in promoting healing and wellness. Featuring a diverse collection of paintings, sculptures, photography, and mixed media, the show highlights how art can support mental, emotional, and physical well-being. The gallery will be open from 10 am to 4 pm. Please feel free to enjoy live music at the Windsor Art Center as well, from noon to 2pm.

The Windsor Historical Society will hold its holiday shopping day from 10am-4pm. Give a little piece of history and experience some for yourself.

Additional downtown retailers will be open throughout the day for holiday shopping, including The Blue Dragonfly, Jordan Florist & Gift Shop, Windsor Ace Hardware, Ewe & You Fiber Arts, Selig Antiques, and many more. Local eateries such as Family Pizzeria, Giovanni’s, Siam Corner Thai Kitchen, Union Street Tavern, and Windsor Steak & Seafood will also be serving up the tastiest selection of meals.

The day continues with the annual Carol Sing and Torchlight Parade, a beloved tradition hosted by First Town Downtown Windsor. Starting at 6 pm on the Town Green, this event features a joyful sing-along of holiday songs, followed by a parade of lighted trucks and festive vehicles.

With cocoa in hand and holiday lights aglow, it’s a magical way to ring in the season with neighbors and friends. And after the Carol Sing and Torchlight Parade, join us for a toasty bonfire held at the corner of Mechanic Street and Batchelder Road.

The festivities continue with “La Parranda Night” at The Birdcage at 25 Central Street – with a low presales $15 admission or $20 at the door, all starting at 7pm. This exciting event will feature Orquesta Afinke, a Latin musical group featuring groovy percussion, a swinging rhythm section and harmonic brass sounds This project is sponsored by (and a fundraiser for) The Latin Footprint. It’s a celebration for the culture of the Latino and Hispanic community! There’ll be a flan contest, food truck, salsa lesson, music, and drinks sold by the Jaycees.
