| | | The three artists featured in the Windsor Art Center’s upcoming exhibition, 3 Roads Diverge. The exhibition opens with a reception on Saturday, March 14, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and runs through April 25 at the Windsor Art Center, 40 Mechanic St., Windsor, CT. Take familiar images such as landscapes and use them to express the beautiful moments of life - from giving thanks, to exploring the craft of making art, to sharing a personal view of a sunset.
Artist Diana Lyn Cote shares work from a series of 366 paintings inspired by asking everyday for one leap year, “What makes you grateful?” Painter Catherine Doocy invents landscapes from memory, using the elements of the landscape for explorations of composition, line, and color. Teri Oja combines her training in drawing and painting with her needlework to create “Thread Paintings”, capturing the visual impressions that a scene makes, without trying to reproduce it exactly. Come see how these three artists create beautiful images of the world by following these three distinct paths.
Diana Lyn Cote will lead a postcard making working on Saturday, March 28, at 10:00 AM (registration available through the Windsor Art Center’s website). There will be an artist talk and demonstration by Catherine Doocy on Saturday, April 11, at 11:00 AM. Gallery hours are: Thursday, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.; Saturday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM; and Sunday, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. |
