Daniel Bissell, Windsor's Revolutionary War Hero
Looking for something fun to do with the kids? On Wednesday, August 5 Curator Christina Vida heads to the Windsor Public Library to tell the story of Windsor’s own historical hero Daniel Bissell. He was an American Revolution spy for George Washington, who was really thought to be a traitor! Daniel and George Washington created a spy code used throughout the war. Daniel was even wounded and later received the Purple Heart medal. Learn how to create your own spy code and develop messages you might have sent to George Washington! This free program is for grades 3-5. Please register at Windsor Public Library by calling 860-285-1914.
