THIS SATURDAY, NOV. 16TH FUNDRAISER FOR WINDSOR FOOD & FUEL BANK $5 Contribution Gets Donors 20 Percent Off Almost All That Fits in a 5-Gallon Pail WINDSOR, CONN., November 14, 2019 – With the holidays just weeks away, a Windsor Center business is encouraging area residents to step up and assist those in town who can use some help this season. This Saturday, November 16 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., Windsor Ace Hardware at 296 Broad St. will host a fundraiser for the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank that also offers donors a shopping discount in the store that day. Anyone who comes in and contributes at least $5 gets a 5-gallon utility bucket along with 20 percent off on almost anything in the store that fits in it. Volunteers and staff from the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank will be at the Windsor Ace Hardware entrance in the Geissler’s Supermarket parking lot to personally accept donations and thank everyone for their generosity. “We hosted this fundraiser last year Windsor Food & Fuel Bank and thanks to the community, it was so successful that we invited the wonderful organization to come again this year,” explains Scott Hoffman, owner of Windsor Ace Hardware. “The Windsor Food & Fuel Bank helps local residents all year round. Since many people are getting into the ‘giving spirit’ this time of year, we hope to raise many dollars and lots of public awareness for this important effort.” For more information about the November 16th fundraiser, call Windsor Ace Hardware at 860-688-8373. The Windsor Food & Fuel Bank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 1967 as the Windsor Community Service Council (WCSC). The all-volunteer Board along with our partners at Windsor Social Services, works to accomplish our Mission of ensuring that no Windsor resident goes hungry, is cold, or is without basic necessities. The generosity of local individuals, businesses, civic and religious organizations provides for 95 percent of the WF&FB’s annual operating budget. For more information, visit www.windsorfoodbank.org.
