RipChord is comprised entirely of citizen soldiers from the Connecticut 102d Army National Guard Band out of Rockville, CT. Their vocational backgrounds include professional musicians, students, teachers, law enforcement personnel, and business professionals. These soldiers train together one weekend per month and two weeks per year to prepare for variety concerts where they perform patriotic and hit songs from the 1970’s through today. The group typically performs at social events for soldiers, summer concerts for the public, and numerous music festivals. There is truly something for everyone who comes to see this group perform. RipChord has been performing under the leadership of Sgt. 1st Class David Finn since 2015, and the musical direction of Sgt. Steve FitzGerald since 2018. The primary mission of RipChord is to enhance community relations, entertain the general public and honor all soldiers and veterans who have served and are serving in our armed forces.
