Five Things Everyone Should Know About Native American Archaeology
Join Connecticut State Archaeologist Brian Jones at Windsor Historical Society Tuesday, May 12 from 7:00pm - 8:00pm. Yes, Windsor is the oldest town in Connecticut but ninety-seven percent of Connecticut’s history occurred before 1633! Through the fascinating study of Connecticut archaeology, learn how Native Americans colonized an Ice Age landscape, adapted their life-ways to post-glacial habitats, formed trade networks, fed a growing population, and developed politically complex societies. This summer, Jones and his team will be investigating Windsor’s Palisado and trading post; learn about these exciting plans. Cost: $6 adults, $5 seniors and students, WHS members $4.
