Town Grant for Community Projects


Town Grant for Community Projects


Applications are now being accepted by the Town of Windsor for the second round of the Community and Neighborhood Enhancement grant program (CNEP) utilizing American Rescue Funds.

This grant program aims to help support community organizations, civic groups, town boards and commissions as well as not-for-profit entities to develop or enhance community programs or events, along with small scale facility improvement projects as a way to bring residents together as neighbors and community members.

Grant funding amounts can be up to $10,000 with a 50% match (cash, donations, in-kind resources). Applications will be accepted until September 26th. For more info call the Community Development Office at 860 285-1985.

Farmers Market


The 2024 Farmers Market takes place each Thursday started on June 20, 2024 and run through October 17, 2024 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at 240 Broad Street in Windsor Center. (No market on July 4.)

This well-attended local marketplace in Windsor Center includes locally grown fruits, vegetables, baked goods, herbs, eggs, cheese, skincare products, honey, books and more, along with live music!

2024 Windsor Eco Monarch Festival w/ Windsor Climate Action


The Windsor Eco Monarch Festival will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM! This is an eco-friendly fair; we focus on green initiatives like gardening, recycling, environmentalism, and protection of the endangered monarch butterfly. This year First Town Downtown is partnering with Windsor Climate Action to gather all our environment friendly activities in one place so you can enjoy it all!

Join in the fun at this unique, artsy, green event!

The festival includes over 30 vendors with amazing eco-friendly artisan goods for sale including home decor, jewelry, healthy skin care products, art made from reused materials, nature photography, and more.

There are activities for the whole family including making a fluttering butterfly, rock painting, kids costume pollinator parade, make a butterfly brooch, face painting, make a bird scarer for your garden, and planting marigolds to take home. An acclaimed chalk artist will be there to create a beautiful chalk mural with lots of chalk for you to create with too! There will be an Electric Vehicle Display with cars for you to enjoy and learn about.

Free CT DAS Small/Minority S/MBE Sam.gov Registration Clinics

Representatives from the CT DAS Procurement Supplier Diversity Certification Unit and Connecticut APEX Accelerator will be on hand to assist small and minority businesses with registration with the State to become certified SBE/MBE/WBE vendors. Sessions will be held at the MDC Training Center – 125 Maxim Road, Hartford. Clinic Dates: 1/17/24, 2/28/24, 3/20/24, 4/17/24, 5/15/24, 6/12/24, 8/21/24, 9/18/24, 10/16/24 and 11/20/24 Space is limited.
