A Taste of Windsor - A Success!

Enthusiastic people came from far and wide to enjoy extraordinary food and drink at the 5th annual First Town Downtown event "A Taste of Windsor" held at Loomis Chaffee School. The evening was filled with a wide variety of appetizers and main dish samplings donated by Windsor's own unique restaurants: Menchie's Frozen Yogurt, Bear's Smokehouse BBQ, Dom's Broad Street Eatery, Union Street Tavern, Moneta Moments, Bart's Beanery, Nat Hayden's Real Pit BBQ, Get Baked, Jim's Pizza, The Bean @226. Eighteen fabulous wines presented by Bert's Spirit Shop and impressive libations by Back East Brewing & Broad Brook Brewery were enjoyed thoroughly. Ben Muller kept the crowd entertained throughout the evening. Silent and tea cup auctions were a big hit, offering donated, highly sought after gift certificates and other prizes. One lucky lady, Mary Beth Welsh, won a lovely pearl necklace donated by Bill Selig Jewelers! Over $6,000 was raised to support First Town Downtown, Windsor's Main Street Program.
