Windsor Climate Action is sponsoring the town’s first ever Sustainability Fair on the Town Green, Saturday, October 1st from 11am -4pm.
This event is designed to educate, inspire, entertain, and engage the town of Windsor and neighboring communities about zero waste and sustainable living. The fair will showcase exhibits on composting, native/invasive plants, recycling, local & sustainably made products, as well as vendors for energy efficiency, solar, heat pumps, electric vehicles and more. Family fun for all ages including face painting, music, games, and food vendors. Thirsty? We’ll have beer from Luppoleto Brewing Company on hand too.
There are lots of activities taking place next weekend, especially on Saturday, October 8th! This map shows all the events around Windsor center being held by our fabulous non-profit groups! The fun starts at 9:00 am and ends about 4:00 pm depending on the venue. Bring the family out and have a wonderful day!
We and our presenting sponsor Windsor Federal Savings are getting ready for “Nightmare on Broad Street” on October 31st. Families can trick or treat, get a photo with a ghoul, watch a Halloween movie, and take a hay ride! The evening’s festivities will take place from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. (Broad Street will be closed.)
All the businesses along Broad Street are highly encouraged to decorate in advance of Halloween night with orange lights!
Sponsorships available - we have thousands of people in the center that night!
Last Saturday, a group of about twelve volunteers, chaired by Sharran Selig Bennett, got together in front of the First Town Downtown office to don our gloves, pick up bags and walk through the streets and alleyways of Windsor Center, picking up discarded bottles, papers, cups, and other trash that ended up on our streets.
Thanks to all the volunteers who came out to help us clean up the center!
