You are invited to attend a public information meeting on Wednesday, October 9th at 6:30 PM in the Council Chambers at Windsor Town Hall, 275 Broad Street on the proposed project to reconstruct a portion of Broad Street to slow traffic and enhance pedestrian safety. The scope of the envisioned project includes the reduction of Broad Street to one travel lane in each direction from Poquonock Avenue (Route 75) to Sycamore Street, the addition of on-street parking, and improved walkability of the downtown area.
Between 6:30 and 7:00 PM will be an ‘open house’ format with stations displaying the various design options, including potential roundabouts and bike lanes. Attendees can view the options during this time. Starting at 7:00 PM there will be a brief presentation and the opportunity for comments and questions. You are invited to attend the meeting to share any questions to assist in the project’s design and development. The 7:00 PM portion of the meeting will be accessible via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82779069268?pwd=G3Y5K0iWTGyPJyLid07ZiZIL1f9r9p.1.
To make Windsor Center a safer, more vibrant place by:
Reducing vehicle speeds
Improving walkability
Improving traffic flow
Improving foot traffic to local businesses
Reducing lanes and vehicle speeds makes the road way safer for all users. This is especially true for young and disabled pedestrians, who are often unable to use multi-lane roadways with high speeds and lighted signals.
