My name is James Emerich and I am from Los Angeles, California. I attended California State University, Los Angeles and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre Arts. I worked in the arts as a singer and entertainer for over twenty years in the United States and internationally. I have also been in the education business as a teacher and counselor for over thirty years and throughout five different states, working with diverse populations (both inner city kids and rural). I am currently working as a Spanish teacher at Windsor High School. Passion for Windsor Being an artist and a teacher has given me the opportunity to visit and live in many different states and countries. I was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up near downtown during the 1960’s and 70’s. It was a time before malls and skyscrapers. Everyone knew each other, and everyone went to downtown to shop, eat and be with friends. In the 1980’s I became a member of the Redevelopment Agency in Los Angeles, dedicated to urban renewal. I am proud to say that I was part of the rebuilding of the new Los Angeles. When I walk the Green in Windsor it reminds me of my youth and a wonderful community I once experienced. I mention that I have lived in many places, but nothing comes close to my happy youthful neighborhood days except for Windsor, Ct., where there is a true sense of community, and that is why I call it home. |
