Join us on Sunday, August 23 for a fascinating talk with master gardener and raconteur Gordon Kenneson. Which prehistoric herb was used to clean pewter? What herb was utilized for carding wool and led to the development of Velcro? What herb grown for centuries is known as the “Queen Mother of Poisons”? Learn about colonial herbs and their uses, and about the 1930’s gardener who influenced all modern herb garden design. Potted herbs from the Society’s herb garden will be offered for sale, and delicious herb-infused refreshments will be served. Cost: $6 adults, $5 seniors and students, WHS members $4.
