Free CT Open House Days at Windsor Historical Society!
As part of Connecticut Open House Day, take this opportunity to step into the past at Windsor Historical Society's unique hands-on Strong-Howard House. Captain Nathaniel Howard and his wife Ann will welcome you into their home and show you around. Browse the goods for sale in their store, help set a table for a family dinner, peek into a high chest, and try out the canopy bed of which they are so proud. Ann's cousins Anna and Samuel Bartlett are visiting and helping with the baking for an upcoming family gathering. Watch and learn about bake-oven and hearth cooking, sample some of Ann's famous shortbread cookies, and take home a recipe or two!
