The Logbooks: Connecticut's Slave Ships and Human Memory. Come to this thought-provoking presentation on Tuesday, February 2 by author Anne Farrow who paints a vivid picture of 18th-century Connecticut slave trading, using three long-neglected ship's logbooks and other primary sources. Farrow explores the idea that if our history is incomplete, then collectively we have forgotten who we are -- a loss similar to the dementia her mother battled as Anne was researching and writing this book. COST: $6 adults, $5 seniors and students, $4 members. Snow date: February 3, 7-8 PM. |
